Saturday 15th August 2026 An eclectic street art display by Granny Turisimo today here in Preston, with three ‘ladies’ riding round dancing in and as motorized shopping carts in the market area. Great fun. Afterwards, I went to the nearby cinema to watch both The End Of Oak Street and Spiderman, Brand New Day back to back. (See the film review entries at the end of the diary).

Tuesday18th August 2026 After a couple of quiet days in, this was likewise with the only noteworthy event being my Stoma Bag Supplier has now suddenly changed its name to Unoro, but otherwise the service remains unchanged.

Wednesday19th August 2026 Quiz night, quite a busy pub with lots of dogs present too and a great atmosphere. Our team finished about 4th.

Friday 21st August 2022 Not much today as the weekend was going to be very busy.

Saturday 22nd August 2026 Invited to a friend’s garden BBQ today. – Ian & Diane, good friends from the pub and our quiz team, hosted a fantastic BBQ in their garden today, with many great burgers, hot dogs, and beers, etc. Really lovely event. Cheers Ian & Diane.

Monday 24th August - The early morning registry office wedding of two lovely friends, Stephen & Samantha, in Chorley, attended by a modest group of their family and friends. A lovely event, and Stephen treated the guests to a meal in a pub afterwards before many of the guests headed to Blackpool for the day. Congratulations Stephen & Sam. Xx Sad news of the death of country music Icon/idol, Dolly Parton tonight.

Tuesday 25th August – A quiet one, necessary after three days of heavy eating. Drinking, etc. Found that one of my poem’s will be appearing in an anthology coming out in September. Yay!

Wednesday 26th August – Pub quiz night at which our team lost first place by a tie break question. It was followed at the same pub, Vinyl Tap, with a screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show https://letterboxd.com/arthurchappell/film/the-rocky-horror-picture-show/ in honour of Tim Curry who died on Tuesday. Many people came just for the film and the pub atmosphere was fabulous.
