My 2026 Diary

Caught up on some of my writing. Got paid early as Monday being a bank holiday the banks will close then. Visited The Blue Bell pub in the city centre for the first time since its reopening. Disappointed to be refused permission to take photos due to the Brewery’s draconian opposition to use of phones, laptops or computers in any of their pubs, even though the staff and regular customers are allowed to ignore the rules. The Firestorm film festival took place in the evening, which was lovely. You can see links to my reviews of the four films screened below. Barred, Distressing Images, Night Is An Odd Day and Violet.

Saturday 29^th

Went to a pub for a film group meet up only to find it isn’t on until the end of September. Decent pint and a chance to finish the Book club book for this reading period though, and I wrote a poem while I was there too, so not a wasted day.

Sunday 30^th Not a lot apart from a bit of writing and editing. Ordered a food drop for Tuesday 1^st September.

Bank Holiday Monday 31^st The end of the month and a sinking sense of the end of Summer as the weather prospects of the next few weeks are cloud and rain that will reduce if not stopping my pub sign activity for a while. I got a bit of local shopping in, wrote a poem, and edited these pages.
